Dressing Your iPhone For Success

You are in cell phone heaven. You’ve just purchased your brand new iPhone and are the envy of everyone you know. Your new device has revolutionized the cell phone world, transforming a basic communication device into a minicomputer that can fit in a pocket. But wait a minute! How are you going to ensure that your recent (and pricey!) purchase stays in its pristine condition and in best possible working order? The answer: dress it up with relatively inexpensive accessories.

You can, of course, find these items from the store that sold you the iPhone in the first place, but don’t necessarily stop there. Check out various sites online—using that new iPhone!—to see what deals may be out there. As you do this, use the same caution you should always employ while shopping online: make sure the sites are reputable, trustworthy, and legitimate. And as you shop, be realistic about what you really need on your iPhone…a nurse probably doesn’t need a heavy-duty metal case, nor would a carpenter get much out of a case that won’t connect to a tool belt. Get only what you need to most enhance your iPhone experience and usage.

Now there are some basic accessories that all iPhone users should really consider buying. First and foremost is a protective case, one that will protect from bumps and bangs, dust, scratches, basically day to day use. The number of cases out there is almost limitless, so take some time to choose the one that will best suit your own needs and be completely functional.

Next, a screen protector is in order. Since the iPhone has a touch screen made of delicate glass, making sure you don’t ruin it with scratches, smudges, and fingerprints is a must. Even the oils on your fingers can eventually hamper the phone’s performance, so covering up the touch screen will save you plenty down the road.

Another accessory found to be especially crucial to iPhone users is an iPhone dock. With a dock, you can download music, videos, and charge your phone using a computer USB port. Most even come with a wall adapter, so if you want you can plug in and charge too. There are also stereo and Bluetooth headsets, designed for hands-free use. Obviously, the stereo headset increases your listening pleasure, while still being able to take calls, and the wireless Bluetooth headset helps to ensure you can still drive while talking on the phone.

We can now move into the less common and perhaps less vital accessories—but they can be quite useful, nonetheless. There are iPhone accessories available for just about every use you can imagine – arm bands for use while working out, belt holsters so you decrease the risk of back pocket “butt dialing,” and car kits that make it so you can integrate your iPhone with your car stereo.

Overall, the options are endless. Dress your iPhone to the max, or let it go naked, it’s up to you. Just remember, if you choose the naked options, you may get caught with your iPhone pants down!
